Busy, Busy Weekend...

This really nice, really busy weekend started early for me!! Anyway, Thursday afternoon I took off work in the afternoon so that I wouldn't be rushed to geting to my seats for all of the pre-game activites at the Nationals Home Opener!!! What a good time that was. :) The game was really good and despite a slight lapse by the Nats pitcher in the top of the ninth, it would have been a shut-out. The stadium definitely shows its age, and the people working there definitely showed that they were not used to working baseball games. However, it was the action on the field that had most of my attention. Not only did they win the first home game, but they swept the first home series and they are in 1st place in their division! Rejoice now because I am not sure how long it will last.

On another note... I finalized all my tax stuff on Thursday and e-filed them. Now I know why there is a saying that nothing on earth is certain except death and taxes. I am not sure who said that, but its definitely true. I took my taxes to H&R Block last year, because I had never done them myself, and I was behind schedule enough that it wasn't time to learn how. I figured out what the lady helping me was doing pretty easily, so I decided that I would attempt them this year. If I hadn't procrastinated so much, I am sure they wouldn't have been a problem. Also, if I had kept all the tax info that I was sent in one place, that would have made things smoother too. But that would have been way too easy, so I spent a long time preparing them, and I am not ever sure if they are exactly right. Oh well!

Other than Fri., which was spent doing errands and stuff around the house, I spent a lot of time outdoors this weekend. Mostly because it was so nice out. I rode my bicycle and ran Sat. morning in prep for my triathlons. It was a nice crisp morning. Then I had brunch with my mom before she headed home to Pittsburgh and I went off to my softball practice. I am playing on a team in a DC Softball league this year, and it looks like it will be a lot of fun. However, I was very rusty since I hadn't swung a bat or fielded a ball in forever!

Sat. night I went to a Maroon 5 concert, that was really good. They don't have all that many songs, but they have a good sound to them and I even liked the songs that I coudn't sing along too. You know, the ones that aren't played all over the radio! There were tons of young girls there, going crazy over the band members. I guess they are hot or something...

Then on Sun. I had a busy day too. I ran a 5 mile off-road race that was pretty good, minus one small (or rather large) problem. I had forgotten to take my car key out of my pocket before the race started, and about 3/4 of the way through the race, I realized that it was gone, and I had no idea where it was!! I was so mad at myself. The last part of the race I really dropped off my time as I was trying to figure out what the fuck I was going to do! Fortuantely we got the spare from my house and I was able to get it open and we were only held up an hour. After that Andy and I headed to the Nats game to see them sweep the Diamondbacks! It was a nice day to be sitting outside watching baseball.

Well, that's it for now. If I think of other fun things, I will write them later.
