Sports

I am a big sports fan. I just recently bought an XM portable radio and I love it. The XM has Major League Baseball and Nascar. Now there aren't many sports that I won't watch. It must be that competitive nature that I have in me.
I have just gotten back into baseball this year. A lot of it has to do with the fact that DC now has a team. I used to play little league when I was younger, and I have always loved the Pittsburgh Pirates, but after the strike a number of years ago, football and hockey got my attention. I also love my Steelers and Penguins! But back to the diamond... the excitement of the playoffs and World Series last year started my renewed interest in the sport. I think it had to do with the fact that I have a few Yankee's friends and a bunch of Red Sox friends. I am really excited about the Nationals this year. I was so excited that I bought a 20 game season ticket package! Well, this Thursday night is the opening game. I have a feeling it is going to be amazing, even if they don't win.
Without the hockey playoffs to pay attention to this year, I think that drove my interests back to baseball. Again, that competitive nature... Now its not just athletic sports that I am drawn to, although some would say that auto racing is very athletic because of what the drivers go through. I have been following Nascar prety regularly. I am a huge Tony Stewart fan. It all started when he ran the Indy 500 and the Coca Cola 600 all in the same day. That's 1100 miles of racing in one day. He was on the radio today talking about that. But my motorsports interest doesn't end with Nascar, I am a big motorcycle racing fan. I am going to some races in CA in July and I am exstatic about those!!
I think I have spewed off enough about sports for today, but I am sure that they will be a common thread through out this blog.
