BYB Photos - 3/26/06

Here are 2 pictures that were taken of me at the race on Sunday. The first one is me looking pretty good almost half way through the 5.5 mile course.

I got caught behind a guy in this one. (It isn't even a good shot of him... And he beat me by 3 minutes...) I will have to make sure that I spot the photograph, position myself better, and SMILE! the next time. The first one was much better, except for the guy right behind my head.

A good sports weekend

Unlike most of my good sports weekends, this one did not involved actually going to see any games live. It was a bit different, but good despite that. It started on Saturday morning with a great trip out to Schaeffer Farms in Germantown, MD for some good mtn. biking with some people from the DC Tri Club. We had a few technical issues like a broken chain and a broken free wheel, but it is better to get this stuff out of the way at the beginning of the season. The weather cooperated with us and it was a great day on the trail. I am looking forward to a good season of mtn. biking!

The rest of my Saturday consisted of the dog park and some college basketball. I decided not to go out on Sat. night because I was going to have a pretty early morning on Sunday and I just wasn't feeling it. However, I didn't get anything accomplished around the house like I was thinking I could. I was drawn to small naps on the couch while watching basketball instead. Oh well! I wasn't vested in either of the teams, other than my brackets, in which I was in first place in one and third in the other.

My early Sunday morning consisted of the Backyard Burn trail run with EX2 Adventures at Wakefield Park. I only did the 5 mile option, instead of the 10, but it was actually 5.5. I finished in 42:22. I was very happy with my finish since I hadn't run at all since that Tuesday when I complained of my shins killing me. I had ridden the bike, just to stay active though. I took my regular pre-race Aleve and was hoping for the best. My strategy was to go out pretty strong at the beginning to get in front of people, so I could run my pace. I am much more comfortable letting people go by me on the single track trails than I am passing people. My shins held up fine, thanks to my Aleve! But this morning they were a bit sore. I guess I need to stay away from the running for a bit longer and try to rehab some more. In my age group, I was 7th of 25 guys and overall I was 23rd out of 174 five milers. I am also 13th in the points after missing the first race!

After the race I headed home to warm up. The weather was a bit cooler than I expected and the wind picked up a bit at the end and I got a bit chilled. Then it was off to the dog park to let my babies get some exercise, since I had already had my fill for the day. Then it was time for some lunch and my spot on the couch for an afternoon of more sports. There was plenty to watch on TV yesterday: college basketball, 500 laps at Bristol, the IRL opening race, and the MotoGP opener in Spain.

Unfortunately, the first thing I saw when I turned on ESPN for the afternoon was about a tragedy in the IRL series. During the final practice before the race, only 3 minutes in, there was a fatal 2 car accident with ED Carpenter, that killed Paul Dana, set to make his first IRL start with his new team of Rahal-Letterman. This was not the way that I wanted to start my Sunday sports watching.

College basketball continued to thrill people, even though it killed tons and tons of brackets all over the country. I had both UConn and Villanova winning, but the games were exciting. Well, the Mason game more so... I may be a fan of a differnet George and I may have been against GMU getting a bid, but I will say that I was wrong. They have proved their worth as a Tournament competitor. However, I'll be rooting for the Gators to take on the Bruins in the final game. No real reason why, just what I have decided.

The NASCAR race was good up until the end, when "Smoke" kept falling further and further back. After leading the most number of laps, he again struggled to have the finish that he wanted. The handling just wouldn't stick with him... At least he moved up a bit more in the points. And as for drama, Bristol didn't disappoint. I wonder how many points Gordon will be fined for his little shove?

Despite the tragedy mentioned above, the IRL race at Homestead had a fantasitc finish. The last 10 laps had side-by-side, tire bumping, 3 wide racing excitement. Add to that a photo finsh pass right at the stripe! I wanted Helio to win, but was happy that Dan was able to get past at the end also. I didn't watch the MotoGP yet because I had to get to the grocery store so I could have stuff for lunch this week! Hopefully it will be jsut as thrilling.

What a night!

I had a fabulous dinner at Cashion's Eat Place in Adams Morgan tonight. Good wine, good food, and better conversation. I am very happy right now.

:)

*Edit* Did I mention there are plans to get together again!!

Oh the Madness!!

Wow... There were three really great games last night and 2 unforgettable finishes. My bracket was happy about the 2 great finishes with Texas and UCLA winning, but it was definitely hurt by LSU dominating Duke. A night like last night is what makes this tournament 2nd to the Superbowl in sporting events. The excitement never ends. And we have 4 more great games on tap for tonight!

I was watching the WVU-Texas game in bed last night, saw the heartbreaking, but AMAZING shot by Texas and couldn't believe they weren't going to OT. Then, I somehow fell asleep after they cut to the UCLA game with 3:00 to go. My last thoughts for the night before I drifted off to sleep were, "Wow, 2 of my Final Four teams are out in one night." Then I woke up to ESPN2 this morning at 6:00, watching out of one eye while decideding whether to snooze, I saw the WVU highlights. Then my decision was made for me when I jumped out of bed, screaming, scaring the dogs, as they showed the final seconds of the UCLA game and Adam Morrison lying on the court. I was so shocked... That is the magic of March Madness!

On another note, last night I went to the book signing of Mike Greenberg, of Mike and Mike in the Morning, at Barnes and Noble in Georgetown. Golic was there with him and they talked for a while and answered a few questions before signing our books. Since there were a lot of people there, I got a chance to read a little of the book in line and it is really funny! I can't wait to get further into it. I was even considering coming in late to work because they are broadcasting live from Gallery Place this morning.

What a gorgeous piece of machinery this is. I am a big Porsche fan, but something about a Ferrari just blows me away. This is amazing!!

Quick Trip to Greenboro

Matt, Al, and I had a good trip to Greensboro for the GW - Duke game, even though GW didn't come out on top. I decidded that it would be a good idea to take a nice long day trip since had never been to an NCAA Tournament game, it was the first time since we had been at GW that they were in the 2nd round, and it was a chance to see a good Duke team play some ball.

After going out to Buffalo Billiards for just a little while on Friday night, I dragged myself out of bed at 4:45 on Sat. morning to get ready to leave DC by 6:00am so that we could make it to Greensboro with plenty of time to spare. There was a GW Brunch at the Coliseum before the game and we wanted to check that out. We met at some friends apartment in the morning before heading out so that we could carpool down together. Our first adventure of the day was stopping to grab some coffee and donuts in Fredricksburg, VA. We couldn't find a Dunkin' Donuts, but we found the next best thing, Donut Connection! It was a complete rip off of DD with almost identical packaging, but very entertaining at 7:00 in the morning.

The rest of the drive was pretty uneventful. It was early and my companions drifted in and out of sleep. I decided to take the dogs with me because I could let them out, feed them, make sure they were ok, better than I could if I had left them at home. I hardly heard a peep out of them the whole time and at one point thought I forgot to put them back in the car after a stop! It was a good thing that we left a bit early because we needed it to figure out exactly where we were going. At one point I was ready to have Matt break out the computer and use the AWESOME wireless internet to get us to google maps. But we made it, and there was still food left at the brunch.

Here is a pic of me and Al at the brunch and you can see good old SJT to the left in the background. And here is one of Matt. This one takes the cake though. There was a pregnant woman there who decided to go all out with school spirit. The picture unfortunately doesn't show just how pregnant she was. After we had enough of the food and drinks it was time to head up and watch a bit of the warm-ups and get ready for the game!!

As they were introducing the players, I was getting pretty excited about the potential upset that we could witness there in Greensboro, but after the first couple minutes of the game, I could tell that GW did not bring their A-game to the table. What a shame. They were playing pretty well defensively, but they were taking way too many shots, just trying to get the ball toward the net and not actually trying to get it IN the net. The GW crowd was pretty into the game no matter what the score was. We saw GW come back on UNC-W from 18 points down, so we knew they could do it. However, the fact that it was Duke and not UNC-W was always in the back of my mind.

After watching Duke play live, you can see what a good team they are. Especially when JJ and Williams get help from the rest of the team. The 2 freshmen, McRoberts and Paulus, were a good supporting cast. It was amazing to see how big Williams actually is compared to everyone else on the floor and to see how amazing some of the shots are that JJ can throw down. He is a truly impressive player. The Dukies definitely had the better team on Saturday, but I enjoyed the game and the quick trip nonetheless. After the game, the GW guys huddled at mid-court and then turned to the GW fans area and acknowledged us. It was really nice to see.

As Mike Wise said in his Post article I think that GW will have another shot at getting further in the tournament next year. It was a great season! And I'm looking forward to the next one.

The trip home wasn't anything exciting. We stopped at the same Wendy's in VA that the Colonial Band members did, but that was about it. Matt got to use my new favorite toy, my wireless interent in the car on the way back, giving us updates on some of the other games going on. He also sent an email for me. Very cool. Hopefully I will not have to drive on any trips in the future so that I can use it!!!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!

It's about time to get out there and start drinking. I am a little torn about this year because normally over St. Patty's Day I am out west skiing and enjoying the snow, but this year I have been unable to make it out on the snow at all. I guess it is a mixed blessing, because it saves me money, but it is something I love doing... This year I can't have too much fun tonight though, because I have tickets to the GW-Duke game tomorrow at 1:00 and have to get to Greensboro!!! How excited am I? Well, no matter the outcome of the game, I think it will be a blast. I have never been to a tournament game before, and seeing Duke no less! Wow!! Yay!

GW... Wow!!!

I am not sure what else to say right now!! What a game! That was just as exciting as the Charlotte game, but had even more pressure, since it is the Tourney and not just the regular season! I went to Crystal City Sports Pub with a bunch of GW Alumni to watch the game. There were a pretty big number of GW people there, so that was fun. We had some cheers going and one of the guys brought some Tri-cornered GW hats for us.

Here is a re-cap from the Washington Post.

HH at Yuca

Nothing to do on a Wed. night in March. The NCAA Tourney hasn't started yet, nothing is on TV... oh yea, the Blogger Happy Hour! Perfect time for it.

I had a great time, met a bunch of new people, and reconnected with those that I met last time. Definitely a good way to spend a Wednesday night. And if it weren't for us Bloggers at the bar, I am not sure who else would have been in the place. They were certainly lucky to have us!!

Here is Kathyrn's post with bunch of other re-caps that are more entertaining than mine, if you are interested.

Shin Splints

I think I may have a bad case of shin splints. I had a great race on Sunday in the 8K, but I think that was mostly due to the fact that I had taken 2 Aleve that morning when I woke up. When I was training for the race, my legs were definitely feeling some pain. At first it was more around the knee, but hten seemed to move down to the shins.

I think this problem could have arisen because I jumped back into my running too quickly. Over the winter, I didn't really run a whole lot. If anything, I was on the bike or the elliptical at the gym. But once I signed up for the St. Patty's Day race, I decided that I needed to step up my running so that I would be ready. Then I got sick with the cough and stuffiness, so I took a few weeks off. With only about 10 days before the race, I jumped right back into running and didn't slowly work up my distance, because I didn't have time!

I think that may have been the downfall of my shins. I over stressed them and now they are not happy with me. I went out to run last night and had to cut my run in half because I was in so much pain. When I finally stopped running, I had to go down a bunch of stairs to get home. That was really really hard to do. Every step I took was a shooting pain. I got home and just sat down for an hour or so until the pain was just minor throbbing. I hate to go see a Dr. for something like this, so I think I may have to just go back to the bike at the gym and limit my running. And of course for my next 2 races in March and April, I will certainly be taking that Aleve!

Weekend Update

I had a great "spring like" weekend. The weather was great and my Mom was here. (More pictures to follow a bit later.)

It started Friday night when I went out to dinner with my Mom and some friends of hers. After that we headed to G-town and Tony and Joe's to meet a friend for some drinks and we watched Pitt beat Nova. We called it a pretty early night because I had to get up on Sat. morning and help a friend move. Luckily he didn't have a huge amount of stuff to move, so it went pretty well. I did have to take a small break at 10:00 to start-up my computer and get online to buy 4 Buffett tickets for the August 3rd show at Nissan!! Very excited about that!

Mom and I then went to get some sandwiches and had a little picnic lunch before taking the dogs to the dog park. Since it was so nice out, there were so many people (and dogs) there. Max and Chloe decided that because it was so warm out, they would go for a little swim in the stream. This didn't make me happy because I was going to have to clean them off once they came up and rolled around in the dirt! After spraying off the dogs, I had to run down town to pick up my race packet for the St. Patty's Day 8K that I was running on Sunday morning. The city was packed with tourists, but we managed to get in and out without too much trouble.

A friend of mine had a Gala on Saturday night to raise money for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. And since it was such a great day, Mom and I decided to ride our bikes down to help her set-up that afternoon. Once things were in order, I went home to change and get all cleaned up for the event. I decided to buy a new bow tie and cumberbund for the event. Well, actually it was just an excuse... I had wanted this one for a while now. It is a raspberry color and has margaritas, limes, and salt shakers on it!! Very cool. But it did not come with a pre-tied tie, so I had to spend a little bit of time learning how to tie it! I managed to get it done. It wasn't perfect, but it worked.

So off I went to the Gala with my friend Alison. We had a good time, had some good food, a few drinks, and didn't do any dancing. There was a little bit of a bright lights issue for us to get out on the dance floor. We had to leave a bit early though, because we were very popular and had to head off to a B-Day party also! We were definitely showing up in style in our formal gear! There was still a huge crowd partying despite the time we got there and the fact that a lot of people had gome to Shamrockfest in Ballston earlier that day! I didn't stay out too late though because I needed to be up early in the morning.

My first race of the season, the St. Patty's Day 8K, was on Sunday morning at 9:00. After Grant and Russ were here a few weeks ago, I got a bit of a cold. That made it really hard for me to prepare for the race because running was not fun when I was coughing and all stuffy. I finally got about a good week of training in, but I had a feeling that wouldn't be enough to do as well as I wanted to do. So, after not too much sleep, Mom and I headed downtown to the start line. The weather was really nice. It was in the low 60's, a good temperature to run in. There was a huge crowd this year also, the biggest in its history. I decided it would be better to go out with a faster group and fall back a bit, then to get stuck behind slow people at the start.

Off I went as the group started to move. I stayed to the left side of the pack so I could scoot by people on the outside. I felt pretty good and kept telling myself not to go out oo fast so that I would have a bit for the end. I passed Mom at the beginning of the hill up toward Union Station. Then again after we came down the hill on our way across the mall. I was feeling pretty good about the 3 mile point where the water stop was. I didn't take a whole lot of water, just wanted to wet my mouth. The last mile was the toughest. That is where I could have used the extra training time. I did have enough to sprint it out to the finish though! When I saw the clock, I was very surprised! I finished in 35:44, which is a pace of 7:09 minutes per mile. I think that may be my best pace in a race so far, which is pretty exciting. In my age group, I was 83rd out of 449 finishers and 347th out of 2249 men. I was happy with my finish.

After the race, Mom and I headed toward the mall only to find all the floats being set-up for the parade that afternoon. There was some interesting floats out there! We checked them out for a few minutes while waiting for the National Gallery to open so we could check out the Cezanne exhibit. I had seen it with Grant and Russ, but it was so crowded, I enjoyed going a second time. The rest of the day consisted of lunch, then the dog park, then sitting on the couch, watching basketball and Nascar, ordering pizza for dinner, and then watching my Sunday night shows. It was a good day and weekend overall!

However, there were a few things that happened on Sunday that were not so good. First off, Tony started off the race in Vegas well, and then fell back at the end in a disappointing finish. Then, the NCAA selection committee decided that they were going to royally screw GW and give them an 8th seed, playing UNC - Wilmington in the 1st round and potentially Duke in the 2nd round. That's the reward we get for having the best record in college basketball. I think it's complete Bullshit. But oh well, we have to deal with what we were given and I have the feeling GW will rise to the occasion. And lastly, one of my Steelers receiving corps, Antwaan Randle El is headed closer to me here in DC and the Redskins. I think he was overpaid, but I hope that he does well in DC. I know he will be missed on the Steelers, but we will be able to overcome his loss!

Proposed Nat's Stadium

The Washington Post has released the Proposed Nationals Stadium drawings from the Architect, HOK Sports. I am pretty happy with the design. I think that it will certainly change from these pictures, but it is a good start. I think a balance between the Capitol and the river are important. There are some pictures of the designs in the Post.

*EDIT*

This is a really interesting website about the redevelopment of the Capitol South corridor that I found.

The Pens and the Colonials

I'll start with the slightly bad and head toward the worse. I went to the final match-up between the Pens and Caps on Wed. night. The Pens had won the first 3 games of the series in pretty dominating fashion, despite the scores. I was excited for the 4th game to be much of the same and we would have a nice sweep of the season series. The game started off well, with the Pens scoring only a minute or so into the game. But then things started to turn. The goaltending by Caron was awful. He did make some good stops, but his bad (or non-existent) stops were worse than awful. He let a puck go in the net that was shot from 150 ft. away with no one in front of him.

I was very sad that this would be the way my last Pens game of the season would end. It was also the last time that I got to see Recchi in a Pens uniform (for the second time) since he was traded to Carolina on Thursday. Luckily this is not the last time that I will see the Penguins as the PITTSBURGH Penguins. Because despite the fact that they will most likely start city shopping this off season, their lease does not run out until June 2007. That is after next season, so I may get a full year to say good-bye to my beloved Penguins.

Now, on to the even worse news... GW lost in the first round of the A-10. After my post about how impressive the regular season was, they go and break my heart. I was rally pissed off at them yesterday, but I am starting to feel a bit better because of this article in the Post about GW. I think there are some really good points in there, both for and against GW. I am not giving up hope just because they got blown out of the first round by an NIT team. I still have the hope that they will get a pretty good seed and be able to focus and have a good Tourney. We shall see!

My Feeling, Lately

This Dilbert comic seems to descibe the way I have been feeling lately. I feel like I don't have enough time for all the stuff I want to do!!

Does anyone else wish there were more hours in the day??

Awesome Cartoon

This is dedicated to all of the "short" guys out there. And all you women who like Tall guys, take note!!

Goodbye Kirby

Baseball lost one of its most beloved members yesterday, in Kirby Puckett, at the young age of 45. He played his entire 12 year career for the Twins, an organization that means a lot to my friend Nate. His career was cut short due to health problems, much like his life was yesterday. He will always be remembered for having a smile on his face and such a positive outlook on life. Kirby touched many baseball players and fans throughout his time in the league, not just on the Twins or in Minneapolis. He will be remembered for what is one of the most famous homeruns in World Series history, taking the Twins to a game 7 against the Braves is 1991.

There were certainly a few dark moments in his life after Kirby was inducted into the hall of fame in 2001, but the good memories of him will always live on. Let's take a moment and remember Kirby Puckett, with his contagious smile and the way that he was able to inspire kids to play the game of baseball.

Hopefully some good news for the NFL and the Nationals

It looks as if there is a little bit of movement on this NFL issue. I am still frustrated about it period, but oh well, that's what I have to deal with being a pro sports fans. Now I know why so many people like college sports. There is none of this "money" stuff involved. Also, I guess it helps to have gone to a school with a football team. I can totally get into the college basketball world, but I have yet to really follow college football. It would be hard for me to give up anything from my beloved Steelers though, so maybe I am at my max for football love. I wish that people wouldn't be so greedy. And I am not just talking about the players here. I think that the owners have a little bit of blame in this whole problem also. People should be glad that they have what they do, which is way more than a lot of people and be willing to spread it around. Anyway, enough ranting about that.

It seems as if the Nats will have a place to call home in several years. Other than the decrepit RFK. MLB has signed off on the stadium lease deal. I think that this a great thing for the city, even though there are many people who live and own land in that area of DC that do not feel the same way. I think it will clean up that area of town that could be a great asset. I used to ride my bike past there on my way to work and I know think that it is a good spot. I am curious as to what the design will be like. Which way the diamond will be oriented and the views from the seats. The real question is, will I still be in DC by the time that the stadium is finished??

A nice Sunday

I had a really good day today. Nothing too spectacular happened. It was just a normal day, but as I head off to bed, I just had a great feeling about today. I was up late at a party last night, where I had a good time, so I slept in until about noon. When I got up, I realized it was a nice day out. A bit windy, but not too cool. I went off to the dog park with Max and Chloe. I think they had a good time causing trouble with all the dogs over there. Then I ran a couple of errand, picked up groceries so that I could have stuff for lunch this week.

By the time I got back from there, it was nice and "warm" out, so I decided that I would take a break from the running I have been doing and go on a bike ride. It felt good. I hope that the weather is getting better, because I am defintely ready to get back on the road and the trail. I made it home just as the sun was going down, so it was good timing! I then decided I would suck it up and do some cleaning around the house and some laundry. I got my bedroom all tidied up, so now I am feeling better about things. Slowly but surely I will get organized. Well, as long as I keep up with things and not slack off.

After cleaning, I thought it would be a good time for dinner and a movie. I just want to say how much I love the frozen dinner things from Trader Joe's. They aren't your typical microwave dinners, you actually have to use the stove, but the great thing is that they keep for a while! My 2 Netflix movies that I have at home are Garden State and Wimbledon. I watched Garden State the other night and really liked it. At first I was a bit unsure because it starts very somber, but by the end I decided it was awesome. So I watched Wimbledon tonight. I know it is a cheesy romantic comedy and not completely realistic, but as you know, I love these kind of comedies.

So that was my day. Thrilling, huh?? :) Hope you all had a good one too!

GW B-Ball, The NFL, and Shakespeare

GW won again today with a buzzer beater to increase their winning streak to 18, the longest in the NCAA. They finished the A-10 with a perfect record. They also are the only team in the NCAA to have only lost 1 game. Despite that their strength of schedule was very low, I still think its impressive to have only lost 1 game all season. Especially with the number of games they play. And to have the best record in school history is pretty great also. What an exciting way for the seniors to go out. Here's hoping that they get a good seeding in the tournament on Selection Sunday! Go G-dub!! And this is a great column in the Post by Wilbon about the Colonials.

Now on to the NFL. I am not sure how I feel about this CBA agreement stuff. I have been hearing mixed reports as to why the talks are breaking down and where the problems are. I have heard that the players are being too greedy, which is one thing that really drives me crazy about pro sports, and I have also heard that the owners can not all get on the same page, which causes problems in negotiations. Here is a good article about cash over cap which may be part of the owners problem. We all know what has happened in the past with baseball and recently hockey when it comes to these labor issues. I don't think the NFL is quite in that stage yet, but I am still frustrated with this. However, it doesn't look as if the Steelers are in too much trouble if there is no agreement reached. They released turnover Tommy and CD Willie WIlliams, but I am ok with those two leaving.

Now, you are probably wondering what Shakespeare has to do with any of this, but last night I went to the Shakespeare Theater to see Don Juan. You may also be wondering why the Shakespeare Theather is showing a play bey someone else. Well, it was written about the same time as the Bard lived, and they do 2 out of 5 non-Shakespeare plays a year. I didn't do any research on the show before I went, other than reading the link above, so I didn't know what to expect. I was impressed with it. I definitely liked the first act better than the second, but it was a good night.

Introspection...

I have been feeling very introspective lately and I don't know why it is. Normally I just talk about myself to other people in terms of what I have done, where I have been, or what sports teams I care about, etc. For some reason I am having feelings like trying to figure out what is going on with me. Inside of me. Things that I normally don't notice or react to. It may be because of my crazy last 2 weeks. It may be because of some things that Grant and Russ are going through with career issues. It could just mean that I am maturing.... nah, probably not that last one.

Anyway, I hate to say that I am not "happy" because that is not true. I have absolutely no reason why I shouldn't be happy. I have a good job, a really nice house, a very loving family, and great friends. Those are the basics in life that make us happy. But I feel as though there is something missing. Well, maybe missing is the wrong word also. Maybe I just need to make some adjustments, rearrange my life a little bit. Maybe my priorities are a bit out of kilter right now. That could be where some of these feelings are coming from.

I know it is not coming from work, because I can't really complain about things there. I am a bit scared about the big project I wrote about before, but it is definitely a good thing for me, so that's not it.

Maybe its my house. Underneath it all, I am actually a neat freak. You would NEVER guess that from the looks of my place. But I am able to hide it very well that my mess bothers me!! So why don't I just get off my ass and work on cleaning it up, you may be saying. Well...... That may come from a feeling of laziness. Maybe that is where this feeling of unrest in my life is coming from. I may actually be a lazy person!!!

This is kind of scary... I have prided myself on being active, but now I am saying that I could actually be lazy! That must be why I am feeling confused and "unhappy." My subconscious is telling me to do something about it. It is telling me that I am not the person that I thought I was, so I better kick my own ass into gear and shake things up. Wow... this introspective thing is rather frightening.

I guess I need to figure out what the source of this laziness is then. Why am I having these feelings. I have a plan to clean things up and make some changes, but when it actually comes down to it, I end up just turning on TV and sitting on the couch, or playing with the dogs, or getting on the computer. Occasionally going to the gym or a bike ride or a run. I think I have a lot of things that need to be changed!

It could be that I am just unmotivated. But why?? I really need to spend some time away from things. I have noticed that TV may actually have a lot to do with it. I usually never have trouble finding something on to watch, so that's the easy way out... "I'm not feeling up to doing _____, let me just see what's on the tube." "Oh, I love this show, I have to watch it!!"

I wonder if it has something to do with supervision. If I have someone to regulate what I do, then I am forced to do it. Without that, I am just unmotivated and lazy. It's time for change. I am not sure how I need to go about this, or even what exactly that I need to do, but I am ready to do something about it. I just hope that I am able find the motivation to start this in motion!
